  1. This is so frustrating. I'm trying to update the graphics driver on my office PC, and teh custom install option fails immediately:

    Windows Update

    Windows Update
    We couldn't complete the updates.
Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer.

    Error code: 0x800f0922

"Not compatible with this version of Windows." Windows Update says I'm fully up to date. the Accelerated Linux Graphics Driver page supports Linux. is the installer checking something besides the OS version? I feel like I'm missing smth obvious. I even tried downloading it on another computer and copying it over, just in case the file was corrupted. same error, same instant failure. I am honestly running out of ideas. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. been there man run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth if the installer fails on every version. A damaged component store can break driver installers in odd ways.

  6. yeahhh that error is often misleading 🔥 installers check the GPUs hardwrae ID against their INF file, not just teh OS. open Device Manager > Display adapters > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids and compare. if u grabbed the desktop package for a laptop GPU (or vice versa), youll get this exact message. fingers crossed 🤞

  9. been there man make sure u picked the right architecture and the right OS family. A package meant for a dfiferent Windows edition, or a server/workstation branch, will refuse with the same generic text.

  11. check your Windows build with winver, newer driver packages can require a minimum feature update, if youre on an old build, install teh pending feature update first and try again. fingers crossed 🤞

  14. ok so as a last resort u can extract teh package and install the INF manually: Device Manager > Update dirver > Browse my computer > Let me pick > Have Disk, or pnputil /add-driver <path>\*.inf /install. if teh INF doesn't list your hardware ID, though, don't force it. lmk how it goes

day one patch is bigger than the actual game, classic
