  1. since updating teh graphics driver my projector gets no audio over HDMI at all.

i tried another HDMI cable, another port, and restarting teh projector... in Sound settings the HDMI device doesnt even appear, and in Device Manager i dont see a high definition audio device for teh GPU anymore... it worked yesterday on the old GeForce Graphics Driver 368.22 Beta... help?? i am starting to suspect the installer did smth odd, because nothing else changed, the projector itself works fine with a game console on the next input.

  4. lol same thing happened to me in Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for teh GPUs HD audio device. also try View > Show hidden devices. if its there but disabled, enable it. if its missing entirely, use Action > Scan for hardware changes.

  5. check the gaming monitor's input settings. some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change. power-cycling the gaming monitor with teh PC on, or changing teh TV's HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring the endpoint back. fingers crossed 🤞

at this point my GPU cost more than my car lol

yeahhh open the clsasic sound panel with mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty area, enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. A disabled HDMI endpoint wont appear in the modern Settings page. good luck man!

  7. i've seen Express install skip HDMI audio only when the previous install had it unticked. A clean install is the surest way to reset that.
