  1. im losing this fight with my own computer. stuttering in every game since the Nvidia Graphics Driver update.

i tried Device Manager rollback (greyed out), uninstall via Settings (it came back), and installing the older package over teh top (installer said a newer version exists)... how do i get a clean old version and keep it there? every attempt makes me more nervous that i am going to end up with no display driver at all, i would really appreciate a clear, boring, step-by-step order that people actually trust.

  2. oh ive been there lol sequence that works: 1) download the older package from the ASUS support page and DDU, 2) disconnect teh network, 3) boot into Safe Mode (Settings > Recovery > Advanced startup > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings), 4) run DDU, choose Clean and restart, 5) insatll teh older package, 6) reconnect. good luck man!

  3. Roll Back is greyed out when Windows doesn't have the previous driver package cached. That's normal, not a sign anything is broken. You can see what's stored with pnputil /enum-drivers and remove a specific package with pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall.

  4. try turning off teh cache first, fixed it for me

lol same thing happened to me to stop Windows Update replacing it, use Device Installation Settings > No (System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware) or teh Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro.

  7. For a one-version rollback, teh installers own clean install checkbox (when available) is often enough. DDU is great, but not always required. idk maybe im wrong lol

  8. @inesj183 did it exactly in that order with teh network unplugged, old driver installed, stuttering in every game is gone, and Windows hasnt touched it in a week... thank you!
