Accepted solution by Caleb Mendes — if none of that helps, roll back to the previous driver to confirm. if teh flicker disappears, report it with your exact setup to teh ASUS…
  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts i work on a 4K screen next to a 1080p one all day, and today was unbearable xD Flicker, flicekr, flicker on the secondary screen.

The Intel Graphics Driver update went in last night. Ive tried swpaping DisplayPort and HDMI and moving the monitors to different outputs. The primary screen stays perfect. Can a driver realy do this to just one screen? 😂 The flicker is subtle enough that I sometimes doubt myself, then it happens three times in a row and I want to throw teh monitor across the room. Any ideas on what to test first? any ideas??

  2. do windows move to teh main screen when it flickers (a real disconnect), or just blink? ??

  3. ahh classic if u're on a USB-C dock, update the dock firmware and the ASUS driver both from their support pages. Docks rely on DisplayPort alt mode and are very sensitive to driver changes.

  4. ahh classic if the windows jump to the main screen, teh monitor is actually disconnecting. thats link training, which can be cable quality, DisplayPort sleep or the dock. try a certified cable and disable the monitors own deep sleep/auto input switching.

have u tried turning it off and on again (im only half joking)

if none of that helps, roll back to the previous driver to confirm. if teh flicker disappears, report it with your exact setup to teh ASUS feedback cahnnel and stay on the older driver for now.

  6. hmmmm not sure about that i wouldnt permanently cap the main monitor at 60 Hz just to fix this. disabling VRR on teh secondary is usually enough. just my 2 cents

  7. @cipherfiddler-2yc WOWWW it was the monitors deep sleep setting combined with teh new Intel Graphics Driver... disabled deep sleep and no more disconnects on a 4K screen next to a 1080p one.
