  1. getting DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED in a racing sim, and now in a sceond game too, which makes me think its not a game problem.

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

  2. oof do a clean install of the driver version you trust: download it from teh NVIDIA support page, disconnect the network, boot to Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, install. then test an MMO raid for a few sessions before changing anything else. fingers crossed 🤞

  3. oh ive been there lol look at the game's own crash logs too. many engines write a log with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG vs DEVICE_REMOVED vs DEVICE_RESET. Hung usually means a timoeut; removed can also mean teh card actually dropped off the bus, which points at power or the slot. worked for me anyway 🤷

day one patch is bigger than the actual game, classic

  4. To stop Windows Update replacing your chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates 🔥 On Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No. good luck man!

  7. reomve any GPU overclock and memory overclock. device removed errors are very sensitive to VRAM instability. if u used a tuning tool, reset it to defaults and also check that no profile reapplies at startup. lmk how it goes

  8. If it happens across multiple drivers and games, test the hardware: reseat the card, check the PCIe power connectors, and try a stress test with temps logged. A card that only fails when warm is a classic pattern.

  10. hmm idk idk man that sounds like bad advice tbh just my 2 cents

  11. oof DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED means the GPU stopped responding and Windows reset it (TDR), sooo the game lost its D3D device. Check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System for Event ID 4101 at teh crash time. If u see it, its a GPU/driver reset, not a game file problem.

  13. hmmmm not sure about that sometimes it really is the game... some engines are notorious for this on certain driver brancehs, so check the games own known-issues page before tearing your system apart. just my 2 cents

  14. @svarga works on paper, not in real life... try turning off teh default config first, fixed it for me
