  1. ugh. i lost a ranked match to this today, so forgive teh tone lmao a flight sim hard-freezes during loading into a match and then I get this:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

it says the device was removed. removed! two weeks ago I had zero crashes. in between, teh only change was teh Arc Graphics Windows DCH Driver update. my friends on the same game with different cards are fine. what does this error actually mean and how do I prove whether its the driver or my card? any ideas??

  4. do a clean install of the driver version you trust: download it from the Intel support page, disconncet teh network, boot to Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, install. then test a fighting game for a few sessions before changing anything else. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED means the GPU stopped responding and Windows reset it (TDR), so teh game lost its D3D device. Check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System for Event ID 4101 at teh crash time. If you see it, its a GPU/driver reset, not a game file problem. worked for me anyway 🤷

  6. oh ive been there lol remove any GPU overclock and memory overclock.. :) dveice removed errors are very sensitive to VRAM instability. if you used a tuning tool, reset it to defaults and also check that no proflie reapplies at startup.

  7. oh ive been there lol look at the games own crash logs too. many engines write a log with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG vs DEVICE_REMOVED vs DEVICE_RESET. hung usually means a timeout; removed can also mean the card actually dropped off the bus, which points at power or teh slot. hope that helps :)

  8. lol same thing happened to me to stop Windows Update replacing ur chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates... on Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No. good luck man!

  10. @elift160 omg finally turned out to be a loose PCIe power connector. reseated it and teh crashes in a flight sim stopped... the driver update was just bad timing.
