    that pattern (black screen, then "display driver stopped responding and has recovered") is Windows TDR: the GPU didnt answer within teh timeout sooo Windows reset the driver. open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System and look for Event ID 4101 from Display or nvlddmkm/amdkmdag/igfx. The timestamps tell you if it lines up with your symptom. lmk how it goes

    @vpetrov holy cow clean install with DDU on teh previous AMD driver and the black screens are gone. two days of running a 3D benchmark and not a single 4101. thank you!
