  1. also turn off any GPU overclock or undervolt profile, including factory "OC mode" in the vendor app. A new driver can expose an undervolt that was only barely stable before. hope that helps :)

  6. since it started right after teh update, roll back first. Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click your GPU > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver. if the button is greyed out, download teh previous package from the AMD support page and install that instead. hope that helps :)

  9. Accepted solution

hmmm that pattern (black screen, then "display driver stopped responding and has recovered") is Windows TDR: the GPU didn't answer within the timeout so Windows reset teh driver. Open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System and look for Event ID 4101 from Display or nvlddmkm/amdkmdag/igfx. The tiemstamps tell u if it lines up with your symptom. lmk how it goes

  12. ehh I'd actually do DDU first rather than a rollback... rollback keeps teh same leftovers aronud, and a clean slate tells you more.

  14. @ping_pusher429 it was the power cable, one daisy-chained cable on a hungry card... swapped to two separate cables and teh gaming laptop hasn't blacked out since, lesson learned. u guys are the best!!!
