  1. okay, this is driving me nuts, black sceren, fans ramp up, and about five seconds later Windows comes back like nothing happened... then this pops up:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    its always while wtaching a video in the browser... my gaming laptop is not overclocked and temps look normal in the vendor overlay :/ the only change i can point to is teh ForceWare Driver update from NVIDIA... ive already restarted a dozen times, obviously.. 🤷 is there a log somewhere that tells me what actually timed out, or am i stuck guessing?? any ideas??

  2. oh ive been there lol since it started right after the update, roll back first. Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click your GPU > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver. If the button is greyed out, download the previous package from teh NVIDIA support page and install that instead.

  3. been there man that pattern (black screen, then "display driver stopped responding and has recovered") is Windows TDR: teh GPU didn't answer within the timeout so Windows reset teh driver. Open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System and look for Event ID 4101 from Display or nvlddmkm/amdkmdag/igfx.. ;) the timestamps tell you if it lines up with your symptom. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. hmmm some ppl raise TdrDelay in the registry to hide this. i wouldn't start there: it just gives the GPU longer to hang and doesn't fix anything lmao Use it as a diagnostic at most, and remove it afterwards. good luck man!
