  1. ok so i'm losing this fight with my own computer... stutetring in every game since teh Z77 Extreme4 VGA Driver update.

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    I tried Device Manager rollback (greyed out), uninstall via Settings (it came back), and installing teh older package over the top (installer said a newer version exists). how do I get a clean old version and keep it there?? :D every attempt makes me more nervous that I am gonna end up with no display driver at all. I would really appreciate a clear, boring, step-by-step order that ppl actually trust. thx in advance!!

  2. ok so if installing teh older package over the top complains about a newer version, thats exactly teh case for DDU. installers reufse downgrades but are fine on a clean system.

  4. DDU isnt dangerous if you use it as intended, in Safe Mode, with a restore point first 🔥 The real risk is running it in normal mode with the network on and letting Windows race you to install a driver mid-cleanup.

  11. to stop Windows Update relpacing it, use Device Installation Settings > No (System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware) or teh Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro.

  12. roll Back is greyed out when Windows doesnt have teh previous driver package cached. thats normal, not a sign anything is broken. you can see whats stored with pnputil /enum-drivers and remove a specific package with pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall. lmk how it goes

  13. ahh classic before all that, create a restore point: Checkpoint-Computer -Description "before DDU" in an admin PowerShell, or via System Protection. cheap insurance.
