Accepted solution by Chen Costa — hmmm if artifacts persist after DDU and an older driver, and even appear in BIOS, back up your data and look into warranty lmao Dont keep…
  1. ugh. i installed teh Intel 82845G Graphics Controller 14.10.3 update last night and this morning my living-room PC looked like this in the browser:

    gpu artifacts

little colored blocks, flickering lines, sometimes a whole strip of the screen goes green for a moment, it doesnt crash, it just looks horrible, my stomach dropped cuz artifacts usually mean dying hardware, right? but its suspicious that it started exactly after the update, how do i tell which one it is without spending money?

rgb adds +10 fps everyone knows that

    facepalm

  2. check that the PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored. power issues can produce artifacts under load.

    DNS. its always DNS
