  1. ok so im trying to cut down on how much stuff i have installed. A few of teh tools i use (chat, notes, a music player) offer both a desktop app and a web version that can be "installed" from the browser as a PWA.

the PWA versions look idnetical and take almost no disk space ;) is there a catch? im mainly wondering about notifications, oflfine use and whether they behave prpoerly as separate windows on teh taskbar.

  2. lol same thing happened to me ah, I went through something simialr... which OS are you on? PWA integration is noticeably better on some platforms than others, especially around notifications and teh dock. good luck man!

  3. ok so mostly macOS, but i also use a Linux desktop at home. Offline isnt critical; i just want notifications to show up reliably. The tools are a chat app, a notes app and a music service.

  4. ahh classic small practical tip: PWAs live inside your browser profile... if you clear site data for that domain, youre logged out of the "app" too. and if you use multiple browser profiles, the PWA is tied to whichever one installed it... not a deal breaker, just smth that confuses ppl the first time it happens. lmk how it goes

  5. @sfischer_20 went PWA for chat and music, kept the native notes app because teh web version only shows a cached read-only view offline. Good compromise.
