ROLL BACK DRIVER IS GREYED OUT AND AMD CATALYST DISPLAY DRIVER 12.10 BROKE MY HOME-BUILT PC

to stop Windows Update replacing it, use Device Installation Settings > No (System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware) or teh Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro. worked for me anyway 🤷

    i tried Device Manager rollback (greyed out), uninstall via Settings (it came back), and installing teh older package over teh top (installer said a newer version exists) 😤 how do i get a clean old version and keep it there?? every attempt makes me more nervous that i am going to end up with no display driver at all. i would really appreciate a clear, boring, step-by-step order that people actually trust. pls help 🙏

    ahh classic DDU isnt dangerous if you use it as intended, in Safe Mode, with a restore point first. the real risk is running it in normal mode with the network on and letting Windows race you to install a driver mid-cleanup. worked for me anyway 🤷

    lol same thing happened to me make a backup before u touch teh cable, learned that the hard way. bump. still happening with ddu for me hope that helps :)

    Blocking driver updates globally also blocks useful ones for other devices. Id use the "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter to hide just the GPU driver instead.

    @uma_uplink dude the pnputil tip was gold. Deleted the new package from the driver store and Windows stopped reinstalling it. My home-built PC is back to normal. u guys are the best!!!

    RAM prices doing their own thing again smh
