  1. long time lurker first post lol every time Im in a racing sim, somewhere around opening teh map, the game freezes and closes with this:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

The error text mentions DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED. The graphics card is obviously still in the PC. This only started after i installed NVIDIA Quadro/NVS/Tesla/GRID Graphics Driver 320.86. Ive verified game files, lowered settings and closed every overlay i could find. Still crashes. Is the driver the culprit, or did the update just expose a problem that was already there?? pls help 🙏

    it works on my machine™

  2. hmmm is there an Event ID 4101 or a nvlddmkm/amdkmdag error in teh System log at the crash time? ??

  4. oof DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED means teh GPU stopped responding and Windows reset it (TDR), so the game lost its D3D device 😂 Check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System for Event ID 4101 at the crash time. If you see it, its a GPU/driver reset, not a game file problem. lmk how it goes

lol same thing happened to me to stop Windows Update replacing your chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates. On Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No. lmk how it goes
