No sound to my monitor with speakers over HDMI. Picture is perfect, which makes it weirder ugh

    im literally losing my mind here since updating teh graphics driver my monitor with speakers gets no audio over HDMI at all.

    i tried another HDMI cable, aonther port, and restarting the monitor with speakers.. lol in Sound settings the HDMI device doesnt even appear, and in Device Manager i dont see a high definition audio device for teh GPU anymore, it worked yesterday on the old VX900/VX900M Display Driver Display Driver... help? 😭 i am starting to susepct teh instalelr did something odd, because nothing else changed... the monitor with speakers itself works fine with a game console on the next input. thx in advance!!

    ahh classic many GPU installers let you choose components in Custom install, and the HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them. Rerun the VIA installer, choose Custom, and make suree the HD audio component is ticked.

    for me it was the default config. swapped it and boom, fixed worked for me anyway 🤷

    in Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for the GPUs HD audio device.. 😅 also try View > Show hidden devices... if its there but disabeld, enable it.. lol if its missing entirely, use Action > Scan for hardware changes.

    ok so i swear audio is cursed... try turning off teh fimrware first, fixed it for me pls help 🙏

    @wes.lindqvist64 clean install with the audio component included fixed it. the monitor with speakers has sound again and I learned what Custom install is for.
