ARE THESE ARTIFACTS MY GPU DYING OR JUST MOBILITY CATALYST DISPLAY DRIVER 12.2 BEING WEIRD?

    so this is new, artifacts in games, and only since updating Mobility Catalyst Display Driver from AMD.

    ive already rebooted three times... they dont show up on the BIOS screen as far as I can tell, only once Windows loads.. 🤦 is that a meaningful clue? im happy to run tests, I just need to know which ones make sense. I have not overclocked anything on purpose, but I did install a tuning tool a while back. I want to rule out teh cheap explanations before I start pricing replacement cards. seriously need help here 😭

    Reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock. Artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a drievr update can change memory behavior enough to tip a marginal OC over.

    oof pro tip: write down what u change. i didnt and had to redo driver-update from scratch, exact same thing happened to my office machine last month

    lol same thing happened to me your BIOS observation is a good clue. If artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software 🔥 If they show up in BIOS too, think hardware. good luck man!
