The drive shows up in BIOS with its correct name and size. Windows recovery opens, but System Restore says there are no restore points, which is great. Im comfortable with a command prompt if someone tells me what to type 馃槄 I just need Windows to boot so I can back up my work. what am i doing wrong??

  2. Check BIOS SATA/NVMe mode. If the new driver installed for RAID/RST mode and the BIOS is in AHCI (or vice versa), Windows can't find its boot disk. Don't flip modes randomly, but note what it's set to.

  5. From the recovery environmnet (Troubleshoot > Advanced options), try Uninstall Updates first if it was delivered through Windows Update, then System Restore if any point exists. Restore points are often created automatically before driver installs.

  8. Once u're back in Windows, check the event logs and teh vendor's release notes. RAID/RST packages are often model-specific; teh version for your board should come from the PC or motherboard maker's support page. fingers crossed 馃

  13. oof boot to teh recovery Command Prompt and list third-party drivers in teh offline image:

    dism /image:C:\ /get-drivers

Find the storage/RAID entry by its provider and date (oemXX.inf), then remove it:

    dism /image:C:\ /remove-driver /driver:oemXX.inf

the drive letter can differ in WinRE, so check with dir C:\ or diskpart > list volume first.
