It started right after the NVIDIA driver update. Ive checked the volume mixer, default device, everything i know of. Theres simply no HDMI output to choose. Is there a component i need to intsall separately? My family is now watching with subtitles and judging me, sooo any help would be very welcome 🙏 i am comfortable reinstalling teh driver if that is what it takes. pls help 🙏

  2. In Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for the GPU's HD audio device. Also try View > Show hidden devices. If it's there but disabled, enable it. If it's missing entirely, use Action > Scan for hardware changes.

  4. check the TV with a capture card in between's input settings xD some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change. power-cycling teh TV with a capture card in between with the PC on, or changnig teh TV's HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring teh endpoint back. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. ahh classic if the HD audio device shows a yellow mark, uninstall it in Device Manager (tick delete teh driver software if offered), then reisntall the GPU package with the audio component selected.

  8. open teh classic sound panel with mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty area, enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. A disabled HDMI endpoint wont appear in teh modern Settings page. lmk how it goes

  12. ok so many GPU installers let u choose components in Custom install, and teh HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them. rerun teh NVIDIA installer, choose Custom, and make sure the HD audio component is ticked.

  13. lol same thing happened to me on some setups the HDMI audio only appears when the TV with a capture card in between is the active display at boot. test with only the TV with a capture card in between connected once. good luck man!

somewhere an AI is confidently telling someone the wrong fix rn
