HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY NOTICED A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRIVER BRANCHES FOR PHOTO EDITING?? 🤔

  1. hmmmm ok every time i open the AMD app it asks which branch i want and i click whichever is selected, now Im doing serious photo editing with deadlines and i care more about stability than the newest game fixes. is the slower branch genuinely more tested, or is it the same driver with a different label?? 😭 i would also like to know if switching branches is painful, or if it is just a matter of downloading a different package and installing it cleanly. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  7. broadly: gaming branches ship faster with optimizations for new releases. studio/stable branches ship less often and focus on validation with creative apps. both run games and apps fine. the difference is cadence and test focus, not capability. hope that helps :)

  8. wait does this also apply to game-ready?

RAM prices doing their own thing again smh

  9. if everyday work pays your bills, the stable/studio branch is a sensible default, games still run well on it; u just get new game optimizations a bit later. hope that helps :)

  10. Dont hop branches every week. Pick one, note teh version, and only change when smth you need is fixed or added. Frequent switching makes troubleshooting harder. fingers crossed 🤞

  11. Switching branches is easy: donwload the other package from teh AMD support page and install it with the clean install option (or DDU if u want to be thorough). ur apps dont need reinstalling. good luck man!

  13. ahh classic check your creative apps system requirements page. some list a minimum driver version for GPU acceleration features. make suree whichever branch you pick meets that.
