Accepted solution by Liv Quintero — hmmm first rule out the obviuos: on laptops, check that the game actually uses the dedicated GPU. Settings System Display Graphics , add…
  1. smths off... a racing sim feels sluggish since the Vulkan Beta Driver update and the FPS counter agrees with me.

  5. lol same thing happened to me to measure properly, use a repeatable in-game benchmark or the same route, log frame times with a tool like PresentMon or CapFrameX, and compare average and 1% lows on both drivers. one run each isn't enough.

  6. ahh classic after a driver update, games often rebuild their shader cache, which causes stutter for teh first sessions, give it a couple of runs, or clear teh driver shader cache manually in teh control panel / %LocalAppData% cache folder and let it rebuild once. hope that helps :)

  7. ahh classic check that teh driver install didnt reset ur control panel settings (power management mode, low latency mode, V-Sync, frame caps). A clean install resets everything to defaults, which can feel like a performance change. worked for me anyway 🤷

hmmm first rule out the obviuos: on laptops, check that the game actually uses the dedicated GPU. Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the games .exe, set it to High performance. Driver updates can reset per-app GPU preferences. hope that helps :)

  9. hmmmm not sure about that shader cache rebuilds explain a lot of "driver made it slower" posts... i'd play three or four sessions before rolling back. just my 2 cents

rgb adds +10 fps everyone knows that

  10. @uplink_bench omggg the game had dropped back to teh integrated GPU. Set it to High performance and a racing sim runs better than before. Wow. owe u a beer 🍺
