  1. so annoyed rn somethings off. a strategy game feels sluggish since the Radeon Adrenalin Edition Graphics Driver update and the FPS counter agrees with me.

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

That crash happened once too 🤦 i'm on a small form factor PC. i've restarted, reinstalled the game, and turned off recording. Before i go back to the old driver, is there something i should check first? i would also like to understand how to measure this properly, cuz right now i am mostly going on feel and an FPS counter in teh corner of teh sceren. thx in advance!!

  6. ok so to measure properly, use a repeatable in-game benchmark or teh same route, log frame times with a tool like PresentMon or CapFrameX, and compare average and 1% lows on both drivers. One run each isnt enough. fingers crossed 🤞

  7. @asht420 works on paper, not in real life. try turning off teh cable first, fixed it for me but hey ymmv

  8. After a driver update, games often rebuild their shader cache, which causes stutter for the first sessions. Give it a couple of runs, or clear the driver shader cache manually in the control panel / %LocalAppData% cache folder and let it rebuild once.

  9. check that the driver install didnt reset ur control panel settings (power management mode, low latency mode, V-Sync, frame caps) 😅 A clean install resets everytihng to defaults, which can feel like a performance change. fingers crossed 🤞

  11. yeahhh if measurement confirms a regression, roll back with DDU to teh previous driver, and reoprt it to AMD with your GPU, game and settings. worked for me anyway 🤷

  12. First rule out teh obvious: on laptops, check that the game actually uses teh dedicated GPU. Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the game's .exe, set it to High performance. Driver updates can reset per-app GPU preferences.

oof check Power Options: a Windows update or driver installer can switch to Balanced or a battery saver profile, on laptops, also check the manufacturer's performance mode app.

  14. @bytelab-37w yesss the game had dropped back to the integrated GPU. Set it to High performance and a strategy game runs better than before. Wow. seriously made my day 😭🙏
