  1. guys pls help i lost a ranked match to this today, so forgive the tone. a flight sim hard-freezes during a cutscene and then i get this:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

it says the device was removed. removed! two weeks ago i had zero crashes. in between, the only change was the GeForce Graphics Driver update. my friends on the same game with different cards are fine. what does this error actually mean and how do i prove whether it's teh driver or my card? seriously need help here 😭

  3. hmmm remove any GPU overclock and memory overclock. Device removed errors are very sensitive to VRAM instability. If u used a tuning tool, reset it to defaults and also check that no profile reapplies at startup. lmk how it goes

  4. yeahhh look at the games own crash logs too. many engines write a log with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG vs DEVICE_REMOVED vs DEVICE_RESET... hung usually means a timeout; removed can also mean the card actually dropped off the bus, which points at power or the slot.

  10. hmmm if it hpapens across multiple drivers and games, test the hardware: reseat the card, check teh PCIe power connectors, and try a stress test with temps logged. A card that only fails when warm is a classic ptatern. fingers crossed 🤞

my pc fans sound like a jet taking off but sure

  11. DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED means teh GPU stopped responding and Windows reset it (TDR), so the game lost its D3D device. check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System for Event ID 4101 at the crash time xD if u see it, it's a GPU/driver reset, not a game file problem. lmk how it goes

ahh classic to stop Windows Update replacing ur chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates... on Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No.
