If rollback doesnt help, do a clean install: download teh driver you want first, disconnect from the internet so Windows Update doesnt push its own, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), then install the downloaded package. Leftover profiles from older versions cause more of these than people think. hope that helps :)

  1. i was waking the monitor from standby on my gaming desktop when the whole screen just went black. Audio kept going for a second, then sttutered, then the picture came back with a little notification that the display driver had stopped responding and recovered. This started teh same evening i installed the NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Driver 436.48 update. Heres the message i keep getting:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    It happens maybe twice an hour now. Before the update, zero problems for months. i dont want to start blaming the hardware if this is just a bad driver, but i also dont wanna ignore a card thats on its way out 😤 Where do i even look first? pls help 🙏

  2. wait is any overclock, undervolt or "OC mode" enabled in the GPU software or BIOS?

  3. Event Viewer is full of 4101 warnings, and every one matches a black screen while waking the monitor from standby. idk what else to say tbh
