    Movie night, everyones on the couch, i hit play on the PC hooked up to the projector and.., silence. Picture perfect, zero sound 🙏 The only thing Id changed was installing Intel Arc Graphics Windows DCH Driver 31.0.101.5085-5122 eralier that day.

    the HDMI outupt used to show up as a playback device in Sound settings. now its just gone. speakres on the PC work fine. what did the update do? pls help 🙏

    uhh did you use Express or Custom install for the driver??

    ugh. i swear graphics is cursed... for me it was the thermal paste, swapped it and boom, fixed any ideas??

    If the HD audio device shows a yellow mark, uninstall it in Device Manager (tick delete the driver software if offered), then reinstall teh GPU package with the audio component selected. lmk how it goes

    ahh classic check the 1080p TV from a few years ago's input settings. some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change 🔥 power-cycling the 1080p TV from a few years ago with teh PC on, or changing the TV's HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring the endpoint back. worked for me anyway 🤷

    @quinn.walsh ran the installer again, picked Custom, and teh HD audio box was unticked :) ticked it, reboot, sound on the projector is back. movie night rescued.
