  1. hmmmm ok i was waking teh monitor from standby on my gaming desktop when the whole screen just went black. Audio kept going for a second, then stuttered, then teh picture came back with a little notification that teh display driver had stopped responding and recovered. This started the same evening i installed teh NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Driver 616.56 update. Heres the message i keep getting:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    It happens maybe twice an hour now lol Before the update, zero problems for motnhs. I don't want to start blaming teh hardware if this is just a bad driver, but I also don't wanna ignore a card that's on its way out 😭 Where do I even look first?? pls help 🙏

  2. ahh classic also turn off any GPU overclock or undervolt profile, including factory "OC mode" in teh vendor app :D A new driver can expose an undervolt that was only barely stable beofre.

    ok so that pattern (black screen, then "display driver stopped responding and has recovered") is Windows TDR: the GPU didnt answer within the timeout so Windows reset the driver. Open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System and look for Event ID 4101 from Display or nvlddmkm/amdkmdag/igfx. The timestamps tell you if it lines up with your symptom. worked for me anyway 🤷

  4. @polarloop yesss it was teh power cable, one daisy-cahined cable on a hungry card... swapped to two separate cables and teh gaming desktop hasnt blacked out since, lesson learned. seriously made my day 😭🙏
