Accepted solution by Lars Kaur — oh ive been there lol if installing the older package over teh top complains about a newer version, that's exactly the case for DDU.…
  1. Okay, help me do this properly. My laptop has stuttering in every game after a AMD update and I've decided to go back to the previous driver.

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    Ive downloaded DDU and the older package. What exactly do I do, in what order, and how do I stop Windows from reinstalling the new one behind my back?? I have never used DDU before, so please assume I know nothing. I do have a USB stick and a second device to read instructions on while I work.

    RAM prices doing their own thing again smh

  2. roll Back is greyed out when Windows doesnt have teh previous driver package cached, thats normal, not a sign anything is broken. you can see whats stored with pnputil /enum-drivers and remove a specific package with pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall. hope that helps :)

  3. oof to stop Windows Update replacing it, use Device Installation Settings > No (System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware) or the Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro. good luck man!

  6. hmmmm not sure about that for a one-version rollback, the installers own clean install checkbox (when available) is often enough. DDU is great, but not awlays required. just my 2 cents

  7. @emberdeck WOWWW did it exactly in that order with the network unplugged. Old driver installed, stuttering in every game is gone, and Windows hasn't touched it in a week. Thank you! u guys are the best!!!
