  1. so annoyed rn genuine question about update philosophy. My PC is stable on the driver my PC came with. The new Arc Graphics Windows DCH Driver lists fixes that dont realy affect me. Do you update anyway for security and compatibility, or do u only update when a game or app needs it?? i mostly do streaming. i am curiuos how other people handle this, especially anyone who depends on their PC for work and cannot afofrd a broken evening. any ideas??

  2. Driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, sooo i wouldnt stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable. worked for me anyway 馃し

  3. lol same thing happened to me my approach: make a restore point, download teh previous driver package so it's ready, then try teh new one, if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. that makes updating a low-risk experiment. fingers crossed 馃

  6. ahh classic read the release notes on teh Intel support page before anything else xD They list fixed issues and known issues 馃憤 If a known issue matches your setup, wait; if teh fixes dont touch you, theres no rush. good luck man!

  8. ahh classic for podcast recording, stability matters more than the newest game opitmizations. if there's a separate stable/studio/recommended branch, that's usually the better fit.

  11. ok so keep a short log of what driver you're on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum-drivers shows installed packages and dates)... when something breaks later, youll know if the timing matches.

  12. nah tbh i update on day one and have very few issues. most problems people report are leftovers from upgrading over old installs, not the driver itself.
