oh ive been there lol check your Windows build with winver. newer driver packages can require a minimum feature update, if youre on an old build, install teh pending faeture update first and try again. lmk how it goes

    this is so frustrating. im trying to update the graphics driver on my home-built tower, and teh express install fails immediately:

Error code: 0x800f0922

    "Not compatible with this version of Windows." Windows Update says Im fully up to date. the Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility page supports Windows. is the installer checking something besides teh OS version? i feel like Im missing something obvious. i even tried downloading it on another computer and copying it over, just in case the file was corrupted. same error, same instant failure. i am honestly running out of ideas. seriously need help here 😭

    wait is it a laptop with two GPUs (integrated plus dedicated)?

    oof that error is often misleading... installers check teh GPU's hardawre ID against their INF file, not just the OS, open Device Manager > Display adapters > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids and compare... if you grabbed the dsektop pcakage for a laptop GPU (or vice versa), you'll get this exact message. lmk how it goes

    hmm idk i wouldnt force an INF that doesnt list your hardware ID. Even if it installs, hybrid graphics switching can break. but hey ymmv

    @dima_stack I was using the desktop package on a laptop GPU. Grabbed the right one from the AMD supoprt page and it installed fine. Feel a bit silly but happy. seriously made my day 😭🙏
