  1. long time lurker first post lol im on an old studio branch and everything works for streaming... now NVIDIA has GeForce Graphics Driver 537.42 out and the app keeps nagging me... part of me wants the fixes, part of me remembers the last time an update gave me black screens for a week... has anyone been rnuning it for a while? any issues worth knowing before i click install? i would love a short, honest answer from ppl who have actually used it for a few weeks. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  3. ahh classic read the release notes on the NVIDIA support page before anything else. they list fixed issues and known issues. if a known issue matches your setup, wait; if teh fixes dont touch you, theres no rush.

  5. Keep a short log of what driver youre on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum-drivers shows installed packages and dates). When smth breaks later, you'll know if the timing matches.

  6. My approach: make a restore point, download the previous driver package so its ready, then try the new one. If anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. That makes updating a low-risk experiment. fingers crossed 🤞

  8. Driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so I wouldn't stay on a very old versoin forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.
