  1. ugh. since updating the graphics driver my monitor with speakers gets no audio over HDMI at all.

    USB Audio Device Properties

I tried another HDMI cable, another port, and restarting the monitor with speakers. in Sound settings teh HDMI device doesnt even appear, and in Device Manager I dont see a high definition audio device for the GPU anymore. it worked yesterday on the old GeForce Graphics Driver. help? xD I am starting to suspect the installer did smth odd, cuz nothing else changed. the monitor with speakers itself works fine with a game console on the next input. any ideas??

  6. device Manager doesnt show any HD audio device from NVIDIA anymore, even with hidden devices shown. hope thats enough info 😅

  7. been there man if teh HD audio device shows a yellow mark, uninstall it in Device Manager (tick delete the driver software if offered), then reinstall the GPU package with the audio component selected. lmk how it goes

somewhere an AI is confidently telling someone the wrong fix rn

  8. In Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for the GPU's HD audio device. Also try View > Show hidden devices. If it's there but disabled, enable it. If it's missing entirely, use Action > Scan for hardware changes.

  9. oh ive been there lol check the TV with a soundbar in betweens input settings. Some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change. Power-cycling the dipslay with the PC on, or changing teh TVs HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring teh endpoint back. worked for me anyway 🤷

  10. yeahhh many GPU installers let you choose components in Custom install, and the HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them... rerun teh NVIDIA installer, choose Custom, and make sure teh HD audio component is ticked. worked for me anyway 🤷

  11. lol same thing happened to me on some setups the HDMI audio only appears when teh TV with a soundbar in between is teh active display at boot. Test with only the TV with a soundbar in between connected once.

  13. yeahhh open the classic sound panel with mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty area, enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. A disabled HDMI endpoint wont appear in teh modern Settings page. good luck man!

  14. have u checked your nvidia settings?? mine were reset after an update

  15. Sometimes its purely teh TV with a soundbar in between. A firmware update on the TV or receiver side can drop audio until the EDID is renegotiated. but hey ymmv
