  1. im literally losing my mind here after installing NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Driver 546.33 Ive had random driver crashes on my home-built PC. Fine, Ill just roll it back. Except teh Roll Back Driver button is greyed out, and when i uninstalled it Windows put a driver back on its own. i keep getting this:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    i've heard of DDU, but ppl say it's dangerous and other ppl say it's teh only correct way 🔥 i just want to go back to teh driver that worked yesterday. what's the right sequence?

  3. been there man before all that, create a restore point: Checkpoint-Computer -Description "before DDU" in an admin PowerShell, or via System Protection. cheap insurance. good luck man!

  4. been there man to stop Windows Update replacing it, use Device Installation Settings > No (System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware) or teh Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro.

  8. been there man DDU isnt dangerous if you use it as intended, in Safe Mode, with a restore point first. the real risk is running it in normal mode with teh network on and letting Windows race u to install a driver mid-cleanup.

  10. lol same thing happened to me sequence that works: 1) download teh older package from teh venodr support page and DDU, 2) disconnect teh network, 3) boot into Safe Mode (Settings > Recovery > Advanced startup > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings), 4) run DDU, choose Clean and restart, 5) install the older package, 6) reconnect. worked for me anyway 🤷

  11. @heap_pusher DDU was much less scary than i expected... clean install of the older NVIDIA driver and everything works. saving this thread for next time.
