  1. I lost a ranked match to this today, so forgvie the tone... a racing sim hard-freezes during about 20 minutes in and then I get this:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

it says the device was removed, removed! two weeks ago i had zero crashes.. 😤 in between, teh only change was the GeForce Graphics Driver update. my friends on the same game with different cards are fine.. xD what does this error actually mean and how do i prove wehther it's teh driver or my card?

  4. yeahhh DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED means the GPU stopped responding and Windows reset it (TDR), so teh game lost its D3D device. check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System for Event ID 4101 at teh crash time. if you see it, its a GPU/driver reset, not a game file problem. lmk how it goes

  6. lol same thing happened to me to stop Windows Update replacing ur chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates. On Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No. good luck man!

  7. ahh classic if it happens across multiple drivers and games, test teh hardware: reseat the card, check the PCIe power connectors, and try a stress test with temps logged. A card that only fails when warm is a classic pattern. lmk how it goes

  8. nah tbh id try one older driver before doing DDU. if teh older one is stable, youve proven its driver related in ten minutes.

rgb adds +10 fps everyone knows that

  9. @idris.sorensen wowww ok it was the performance preset. Reset the NVIDIA app to defaults and kept GeForce Graphics Driver 577.00. No crashes since, even during about 20 minutes in. thank u thank u thank u
