  1. help!! im on an old studio branch and everything works for competitive gaming. now NVIDIA has GeForce Security Update Driver 475.06 out and the app keeps nagging me. part of me wants the fixes, part of me remembers the last time an update gave me black screens for a week. has anyone been running it for a while? any issues worth knowing before i click install? lmao i would love a short, honest answer from ppl who have actually used it for a few weeks. what am i doing wrong??

  2. hmmm driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so I wouldn't stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.

my approach: make a restore point, download the previous driver package sooo its ready, then try teh new one. if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. that makes updating a low-risk experiment.

  4. I update on day one and have very few issues. Most problems people report are leftovers from upgrading over old installs, not the driver itself.
