  1. Small office, 10.10.20.0/24 network. Since last week the network printer disconnects every few hours, and a nearby PC shows this:

    Network & internet

    Network & internet
    Wi-Fi • HomeNet_5G
    No internet, secured

Connected, but nothing loads. Troubleshoot problems?

rebooting fixes it temporarily lmao nobody admits to changing anything :/ i suspect something has teh same IP, but how do i find out what?

We don't have a proper network diagram, and the person who set up most of teh devices left a while ago. i'm the 'IT person' because i'm good with computers. Any simple way to find the duplicate would help. seriously need help here 😭

  5. yeahhh if clients get addresses outside 172.16.10.0/24, you have a second DHCP server: often a consumer router someone plugged in, or a device with DHCP enabled by default. on Windows, ipconfig /all shows the DHCP Server address the client actually used. then find and unplug it.

  7. oof on a Windows DHCP server, enable conflict detectoin (scope properties, Advanced, Conflict detection attempts set to 1 or 2). the server pings an address before leasing it. it slows leasing slightly but prevents duplicates from static devices. lmk how it goes

  8. The most common cause is a static IP configured inside the DHCP pool. DHCP doesnt know its taken and hands it out again. Either move static devices outside teh pool or create DHCP reservations for them instead of static configs.
