Yellow triangle on the USB-to-serial adapter out of nowhere. What does Code 43 REALLY mean?

    so annoyed rn im out of ideas.

    thats my USB-to-serial adapter in Device Manager. code 43 appeared out of nowhere. i tried rolling back teh driver, but the button is greyed out. the same device works perefctly on my laptop, sooo the hardware should be fine. if its a driver problem, Id like to fix it properly. if its hardware, Id like to know so i can stop wasting time. either answer would be a relief at this point.

    do a clean driver removal: in Device Manager, uninstall the device and tick Attempt to remove the driver for this device, reboot, then install the latest driver from the manufacturer, not Windows Update. worked for me anyway 馃し

    hmmm list problem devices and their driver packages from an elevated prompt:

    pnputil /enum-devices /problem
pnputil /enum-drivers

    you can remove a stale pakcage with pnputil /delete-driver oemNN.inf /uninstall. hope that helps :)

    lol same thing happened to me honestly just reset the antivirus and save yourself teh pain
