  1. small expeirment: i moved everything over to Edge for web development.. lmao bookmarks, passwords, extensions, the lot. some things were better than i expected, some things drove me nuts within a day... before i decide whether to stay, Im curious what teh rest of u think, is Edge a sensible choice for this, or am i fighting teh tool?? real experiences appreciated more than benchmark screenshots... long answers welcome, Im genuinely trying to make a sensible decision this time. what am i doing wrong??

  3. oh ive been there lol extensions are the real decider for me. Before siwtching, list the extensions you cant live without and check they exist and are maintained for teh new browser. Everything else is mostly taste.

  6. lol same thing happened to me for privacy, defaults matter because most people never change settings... look at what each browser blocks out of the box: third-party cookies, fingerprinting scripts, bounce tracking... then check what it sends home by default and whether u can turn it off. hope that helps :)

  7. dont underestimate sync and ecosystem lock-in 🤦 if your phone runs one borwser and ur desktop another, password and tab sync becomes ur real pain point. pikcing a browser that runs everywhere u work saves more time than any speed difference. fingers crossed 🤞

  9. On low-RAM machines the biggest win isnt the browser brand, its discpiline: tab suspension (built in to most browsers now as memory saver or tab sleeping), fewer extensions, and not keeping three web apps pinned. Measure with the browsers own task manager before switching.

  10. respectfully, monoculture is a real concern, choosing a browser on a less dominant engine helps keep the web standards-based, even if its slightly less convenient. but hey ymmv
