  1. ok weird one ive followed every guide olnine: disabled SysMain, turned off Search indexing, even uninstalled some apps. still:

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%
    Not responding

the family desktop is pegged after every boot. my patience is gone. is there a way to actually find out whats using teh disk instead of disabling random services? every guide says smth different and Im tired of guessing. if someone could show me how to find the real culprit, Ill happily do the work.

  5. oof open Resource Monitor (resmon), go to the Disk tab, and sort by Total (B/sec). It shows exactly which processes and files are being read or written, which is far more useful than disabling services blindly.

  7. On a mechanical hard drive, high disk usage after boot and updates is common because Windows does indexing, updates and Defender scans at once. An SSD is the single most effective fix for this symptom.

  8. yeahhh check teh drives health before anything else. crystalDiskInfo shows SMART data; look at Reallocated Sectors, Pending Sectors and Uncorrectable counts, clicking plus slowness is a warning sign. lmk how it goes

  9. yeahhh if teh response time in Task Manager is in the hundreds or thousands of milliseconds, teh drive is struggling to keep up. Back up ur documents now regardless of the cause. hope that helps :)
