ok so philosophical driver question. my first-gen VR headset isn't supported anymore, but teh replacement is worse. I can get it working with an old driver and a few tricks... is that a reasonable thing to do, or am I setting myself up for security isuses and random crashes? I'd love to hear both sides here: people who kept old gear running and people who regretted it, where did u draw the line?? seriously need help here 馃槶
Old hardware, no drivers: fight for it or let it go?
yeah so mostly: the replacement is worse 馃槶 The alternatives i tried were disappointing.
everyone keeps saying this but nobody posts proof. spent two days on haedset and im still not done idk maybe im wrong lol
hmmmm not sure about that theres also value in moving on: newer hardware often uses less power and gets security updates. but hey ymmv
@ninaf762 Set up an old offline PC just for teh first-gen VR headset :D Main PC stays clean, and I still get to use it. Best of both worlds.
