AIO Or Air Cooler For A 16-Core CPU In A Small-Form-Factor Case? Convince Me

  1. so annoyed rn ive used air coolers for every build so far. This time Im tempted by an AIO mostly because teh small-form-factor case would look cleaner through the glass. But i keep reading about pump whine and leaks 馃槀 For ppl who have run both, what did you prefer day to day?? If uve had an AIO fail, Id love to hear what it was like. Did you notice early warning signs, or did the temperatures just suddenly jump?? im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  3. ahh right mostly gaming and some occasional video exports, nothing running for hours at full load.

  4. Noise usually comes from fan curves, not the cooler type. Set a gentle curve in the BIOS based on CPU temperature with some hysteresis and either option can be quiet.

  5. yeahhh check clearances before choosing: air cooler height against teh cases maximum, and radiator mounting positions for the AIO.. 馃う the mini-ITX case spec sheet lists both.

  6. been there man for small-form-factor builds, low-profile air coolers often lose to an AIO because there's no room for a tall heatsink... it really dpeends on teh case.

  7. The pump dies, u replace everything argument is fair, but many AIOs last many years. Its not a reason to avoid them entirely.
