  1. Urgent-ish: i need this Wi-Fi adapter for work tomorrow and it's showing Code 43:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    it was fine yseterday, it started after a driver update, i tried a different port and a reboot... i cant tell if i should be shopping for a replacement or digging deeper into drivers. id be realy grateful for a step-by-step order of things to try. i dont want to make it worse by randomly installing old drivers from the internet. what am i doing wrong??

  4. list problem devices and their driver packages from an elevated prompt:

    pnputil /enum-devices /problem
    pnputil /enum-drivers

    you can remove a stale package with pnputil /delete-driver oemNN.inf /uninstall. lmk how it goes

  6. ahh classic shut down fully and drain power: unplug the PC (or hold the power button on a laptop with the chrager disconnected) for a minute, code 43 sometimes clears after the device is fully power-cycled.

  7. ahh classic for a graphics card, use DDU in Safe Mode to fully remove teh driver, then install fresh. Also check PCIe power connectors and reseat teh card. lmk how it goes

    been there man do a clean driver removal: in Device Manager, uninstall the device and tick Attempt to remove the driver for this device, reboot, then install teh latest driver from the manufacturer, not Windows Update. fingers crossed 🤞

  9. hmmmm not sure about that power cycling sounds too simple, but Ive seen it fix Code 43 more often than driver reinstalls. Try it before anything else.

  10. @socketden holy cow full power drain worked. the Wi-Fi adapter came back with no driver changes at all, still dont understand why, but Ill take it.
