Check teh drives health before anything else. CrystalDiskInfo shows SMART data; look at Reallocated Sectors, Pending Sectors and Uncorrectable counts. Clicking plus slowness is a warning sign.
oh ive been there lol run chkdsk X: /f on teh drive where the game lives (replace X with the drive letter). bad sectors or file system errors can make one specific file fail to write every time. good luck man!
