hmmm driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, sooo i wouldnt stay on a very old version foreevr. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable. good luck man! DNS. its always DNS

keep a short log of what driver ure on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum drivers shows installed pacakges and dates). When something breaks later, youll know if teh timing matches.
