i'd never buy a used GPU without testing it in my own PC. If the seller won't allow that, it is a no from me no matter the price. but hey ymmv

ok so some laptops use OEM customized drivers (common on hybrid graphics). In that case get the driver from the laptop makers support page, or use the generic AMD package only if it explicitly lists mobile GPUs.

Check your Windows build with winver xD Newer driver packages can require a minimum feature update :) If you're on an old build, install the pending feature update first and try again.

been there man keep a short log of what driver youre on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum drivers shows installed packages and dates). When something breaks later, u'll know if the timing matches.
