In Device Manager , check Sound, video and game controllers for the GPU's HD audio device. Also try View Show hidden devices . If it's there but disabled, enable it. If it's missing entirely, use Action Scan for hardware changes .

oof if teh HD audio device shows a yellow mark, unisntall it in Device Manager (tick delete the driver software if offered), then reinstall the GPU package with teh audio component selected.

On some setups teh HDMI audio only appears when teh gaming monitor is the active dislpay at boot. Test with only teh gaming monitor connected once.

hmmmm not sure about that sometimes it really is the game... some engines are notorious for this on certain driver brancehs, so check the games own known issues page before tearing your system apart. just my 2 cents

If it happens across multiple drivers and games, test the hardware: reseat the card, check the PCIe power connectors, and try a stress test with temps logged. A card that only fails when warm is a classic pattern.
