if the download is an EXE, many installers support extraction, e.g. running it with extractdrivers <folder or a similar switch documented on the support page. Otherwise, 7 Zip can often open it directly.

hmmm extract teh package, copy the folder with the .inf, .sys and .cat files to the install USB, then in setup click Load driver Browse and select that folder... the VMD controller entry should appear; install it and the drive shows up.…

open Device Manager device Properties Details Hardware Ids . the VEN xxxx&DEV xxxx part identifies the vendor and device... searching that ID (or checking the INF files in a driver packgae) tells you which package covers it. worked for me…
