Since it lines up with new VPN and headset software, uninstall both completely, reboot, and see if teh crashes stop. VPN clients install network filter drivers and those are a classic source of this stop code.

ok so for USB mics, try a port directly on the PC, not a hub, and check Device Manager Universal Serial Bus controllers for errors. A USB controller driver issue can hide the mic. hope that helps :)
