oh ive been there lol same issue here on my old thinkpad 馃槀 following this thread
lol same thing happened to me re pair properly: press teh pair button on the console, then hold the pair button on teh controller until teh Xbox button flashes fast. Do this after the firmware update. worked for me anyway 馃し
