get the full picture with smartctl a /dev/nvme0 (smartmontools works on Windows too) and look at Percentage Used, Available Spare, Media and Data Integrity Errors and Data Units Written... one yellow attribute means very different things…
To stop Windows Update replacing it, use Device Installation Settings No (System About Advanced system settings Hardware) or the Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro.
