oh ive been there lol have u checked ur capture settings?? mine were reset after an update
@socket builder ended up using the laptop makers driver... its older but stable, and my game launches now... thanks for explaining what the installer was really checking.

@regexrider Skipped it since Device Manager was clean. Will revisit if I notice anything odd.
