hmmmm not sure about that id be careful assuming its thermal. CPUs throttle long before they shut off; an instant power off sounds more like the PSU to me.

@mayac137 Decided against it for a student on a budget. The one app they need isn't worth fighting. Still using Linux myself though.

yeahhh the Microsoft Update Catalog can search by hardware ID and often has the matching driver package. nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround
